Chase Wilkins Memorial Youth Award
Instructions
A perpetual award remembering Chase Wilkins will be
awarded to a selected youth each year at the annual ALSA Grand National
Show. Youth must meet the following eligibility requirements in
order to be considered for this award. Applications for the award
must be received by September 30 of the current year. Recipients
of this award will be responsible for returning the award to the
Committee at the National Show the following year.
To be eligible, you must be...
1. Nominated by a current ALSA member, 4-H leader,
or Ag teacher.
2. Currently in Grades 9 through 12
The Chase Wilkins Memorial Youth Award will be presented to the
nominated applicant who, in the judgment of the selection committee,
appears most deserving based on the following criteria. The recipient
will not necessarily be a blue-ribbon winner in the show ring, but
a blue-ribbon winner in spirit.
1. Sportsmanship
a. A gracious winner and a gracious loser.
b. Congratulates the competitor.
2. Involvement
a. Community service
b. 4-H involvement, FFA involvement
c. Helping others & giving back
d. Teaching
3. Dedication
a. To the well being of llamas
4. Enthusiasm
a. Displays a positive mental attitude
5. Compatibility/Flexibility
a. Adapts to situations
b. Gets along with others
6. Leadership
a. Respect of others
b. Takes charge when needed
c. Motivates others
